BRUTUS CELEBRATES A DECADE OF DISTURBED

Decade of DisturbedWhile with Disturbed on the Rockstar Uproar Tour, Lou was informed by the members of the band and their video crew that he'll be seen in their forthcoming new DVD "A Decade of Disturbed." Not sure what they're using with him in it but the assumption is that its material from one of Lou's many face to face interviews with the group. When he found out he'd be so honored Brutus said, "It's humbling to be included in such a monumental release by a band I have such love and respect for. It's been great watching their rise these last ten years and being able to go along for the ride. If Disturbed's next decade is half as good as their first it will be freaking amazing."

The film will be premiered nationally in theaters and then hit shelves on August 31st. You can check it out here

BRUTUS BACKSTAGE FOR UPROAR OPENING NIGHT

Uproar Tour

Minneapolis, MN was Lou's destination for the opening night of the Rockstar Uproar Tour! He recorded with everyone on the bill including Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, Hell Yeah, Airbourne, Hail the Villain, New Medicine and the band featuring the woman he calls "My Immortal Beloved," Halestorm. As a matter of fact, he spent the entire day before the tour began with Lzzy Hale and may or may not have proposed to her. Check out the pictures below of him on one knee with a diamond ring if you don't believe us. Yes, that's her brother Arejay trying to strangle Lou.

While in town, Brutus also found time to go down on the diamond at Target Field to photograph Kevin Slowney of the Minnesota Twins near no-hitter agains the Oakland A's.

Thanks again to the artists, their managements and crews for all the hospitality!

NO SLEEP TILL…BANDCAMP

94.1 JJO Band Camp

Brutus returned to one of the most legendary, longest-running festivals on the planet, WJJO Bandcamp in Madison, WI on August 14, 2010.

Lou interviewed all the bands including Godsmack, Sevendust and A New Revolution.

Lou also packed his Nikon cameras to photograph the groups both onstage and off. You can go to the Rogues Gallery part of the site and hit the Music folder to check out some of the images.

Thanks to the great Randy Hawke and the whole JJO team.

GRUMPY OLD PUNKS

Grumpy Old PunksIt’s always been Lou’s contention that true punk rock anger isn’t best manifested by snotty assed 16 years olds as they have their mommies and daddies paying their way. He feels that those who truly know how bad the world sucks are paunchy, balding, middle-aged guys with too many bills to pay so he’s put together an all-star group called Grumpy Old Punks.

The band will give an outlet to the every day frustrations of harried husbands and depressed dads from coast to coast with songs of “middle age punk rock rage.” Tunes will include “Hey You Kids Get Off My Lawn,” “That’s No MILF That’s My Wife,” “My Adjustable Rate Mortgage Really Sucks” “You’re Not Going Out Dressed Like That” and “Empty Toilet Paper Roll.”

Look for the debut album “Anarchy in the Prostate” in late 2010.

In the meantime, check out teaser information for them on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter or their web site. Links available in the Kontakt section of this site!

BRUTUS SOUNDS OFF IN FMQB

FMQB

Lou was recently featured in a massive interview with respected radio trade publication FMQB, aka Friday Morning Quarterback.

The interview with him was conducted by Mike Parrish and covers Lou’s career, his thoughts on what makes successful radio, pitfalls for those in the biz, his non-radio creative career, upcoming plans and much more.

Selected highlights can be found online here. For the full interview pick up the August 2010 edition of the mag and look for Brutus on the cover!

THE RETURN OF…BRUTUSMAN

Fall of 2010 will mark the return of Lou as a hapless, not so super, superhero.  The New Adventures of Brutusman will be available as a you-color it, downloadable, comic misadventure. Illustrated by Alan MacBain and written by Brutus. It will be free here on the site.

What whack-job villains will rise to battle Lou? Will his former comic book sidekick, Sammy the Seal (the talking, alcoholic sea mammal), make a return? No one knows as its not written yet but we’ll keep you posted!

DEAD SCHEMBECHLERS TO BRING THE HATE

Dead SchembechlersLou Brutus will once again take on the persona of Michigan Wolverine loathing, Ohio State Buckeyes loving rock star Bo Biafra, front man for the notorious Dead Schembechlers.

Details are unknown for now but its believed the group will headline their somewhat annual Hate Michigan Rally somewhere in Columbus, OH on Friday November 26th, 2010 which is the night before the rivalry game between the two schools.

LB is also continuing writing the unauthorized autobiography of the band, Dead Schembechlers: The Rise, Fall  & Redemption of the Best Damn Punk Band in the Land. It will delve into Bo Biafra’s life, the history of the group and the true story of The International Wolverine Conspiracy. It will be filled with sex, drugs, rock n roll, violence, insanity and pigskin.

Watch for more info here and on the band’s official online outlets, which you can find in the Kontakt section and includes a link to the Lou as Biafra Twitter account.

Also, in case you missed Bo/Brutus and the band in HBO’s film “The Rivalry: Michigan versus Ohio State,” be sure to pick up a copy now on DVD.

LOUBRUTUS.COM 2.0

Brutus World Industries is (somewhat) proud to announce the re-launch of LouBrutus.com!  LB has worked sweaty hand in sweaty hand with Wisconsin based web genius Josh Lippman to bring the total IQ dropping, intranet-thingy experience to unsuspecting web zombies everywhere. The site is also filled with comic book images created by Lou's longtime partner in artistic crime Alan MacBain.

You're invited to peruse the site for audio, video and images from Lou's entire (so called) career.  You can also view tons of shots from his illustrious photography portfolio including pics of Major League Baseball, onstage and private moments with rock stars, lighthouses, Civil War battlefields and much more.

There are free icons and wallpaper downloads in the Schwaggage section which will also soon feature Brutus branded merch for you to squander your hard earned dough.

You may also check out stuff related to infamous Brutus fronted rock bands like Dead Schembechlers and Grumpy Old Punks.

Finally, there are Evil Easter Eggs hidden throughout the site with audio, video, games, puzzles and pictures, some of which are probably not the types of things his Brute-ness would be all that proud of…so start searching!

We'd also appreciate you keeping an eye out for misspellings, mistakes or anything else funky as we bring the site to life. Let us know any corrections, thoughts or ideas in the Kontakt section.

Tons of additions and updates will continue to occur in the coming weeks so you can always expect something new.

Now…hit it!
